Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund Extended Thanks to Successful First Year. Six more $5,000 prizes to be awarded in 2008

Montreal, Quebec (April 1, 2008) – Following the tremendous success of the Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund’s first year, with six winners and over 1,000 applications from across the country, Avon Canada is pleased to extend the Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund into a second year. Initially launched in 2007 in celebration of International Women’s Day, the Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund has flourished as an effective way to help individuals realize their ideas, projects, and programs to empower women and change our world.

“The Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund rewards people with drive and initiative and helps them fulfill their dreams to reach as many people in their communities as possible. Last year’s program was a huge success, with applications for exceptional projects sent in from across the country. We’re proud to be able to help expand more programs by giving more Hello Tomorrow Fund awards this year,” said Ms. Roberta Lacey – Director of Communications, Avon Canada.

Over the next six months (April-September 2008), the Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund will select six Canadian individuals to receive one of six $5,000 prizes to help realize a program, project or idea to empower women in one of two areas: breast cancer community service or breast cancer awareness and outreach. The winners will be selected by an expert panel of judges, including Dr. Marla Shapiro – Medical Contributor for CTV's Canada AM.

“The Avon Hello Tomorrow Fund exemplifies our belief that by providing committed individuals with the resources they need, many lives will be improved, and the resulting positive effect will continue to gain momentum,” said Scott Schlackman – President, Avon Canada.
