Sharon Thurston has been selected to win a $5,000 Avon Hello Tomorrow fund award for “the Betty Riel Fund,” a local volunteer project that raises money to help transport cancer patients to their appointments.

Transportation is provided by S.A.B.E.C. (services d’accompagnement bénévole et communautaires) which helps patients in 13 municipalities an hour or more from their treatment centre go to their appointments without having to worry about finding someone to drive them. Full story...
